"An organization without a rich symbolic life grows empty and barren. The magic of special occasions is vital in building significance into collective life"(Bolman & Deal, 2021)
What is Symbolic Frame:
The symbolic frame of an organization refers to the use of symbols, rituals, and ceremonies to shape the culture and values within the organization. It focuses on creating meaning and a sense of identity for both employees and customers. In my case study, the organization highlighted is a mom-and-pop business that utilizes various features of the symbolic frame to implement a state-of-the-art software platform. The organization emphasizes its family-like atmosphere by promoting strong relationships among employees. It also functions as a team, encouraging collaboration and cooperation among employees. Another aspect of the entity in my case study is that there is a prioritization in being welcoming and accommodating towards both employees and customers. By embracing these symbolic representations, they can display an atmosphere that is held together by supportive values at its core.

In understanding the symbolic frame, it allows a good leader to navigate through times of change or crisis by harnessing the power of storytelling and other cultural elements to inspire and motivate employees. Overall, I strongly believe that comprehending the symbolic frame of an organization from an organizational leadership perspective is crucial as it enables leaders to connect with their teams on a deeper level and utilize cultural elements to create a cohesive and successful workplace.
