Project Management
Definition of Project Management:
Project Management is the art of coordinating, arranging and commanding resources to accomplish particular goals within a predetermined period. The process encompasses the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and eventual closure of any given undertaking. In essence, it is the process of overseeing all aspects of a project from start to finish in order to ensure its successful completion. Project managers are responsible for setting goals, allocating resources, managing risks, coordinating team members, communicating with stakeholders, and delivering the desired outcomes. They use various tools and techniques such as project schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and performance indicators to effectively manage projects and meet their objectives. Strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, strategic thinking, problem-solving capabilities and adaptability to change are all essential for successful project management.
Project Management Contributions to My Leadership Abilities:
Project management core competency has significantly contributed to my overall ability to perform as a leader. By honing these skills, I have developed the ability to effectively plan, organize, and execute tasks within a given timeline and budget. This has not only improved my efficiency as a leader but has also allowed me to delegate responsibilities efficiently and ensure that all team members are working towards the same goal. Additionally, project management has taught me how to effectively communicate with different stakeholders, manage risks, and adapt to changing circumstances. These competencies have greatly enhanced my leadership abilities by providing me with the tools and strategies needed to lead teams successfully and achieve desired outcomes.

Reflection:
This Baseline assessment served as a fundamental tool that enabled me to evaluate and measure the initial status quo of a project before implementation. By establishing a baseline of my ability of leadership and established project management skills, I have shown that I am equipped with essential data to identify potential risks, set realistic goals, allocate resources effectively, and track progress throughout the project's as well as future projects’ lifecycles. Ultimately, the Baseline Assessment has empowered me and reassured me that I have the ability and knowledge to make informed decisions and develop comprehensive strategies that align with organizational objectives, ensuring successful project management outcomes within the context of my Organizational Leadership Degree and Project Management program.
Although I have been involved in many leadership and project manager roles throughout my life, it was not until I began my journey towards my degree in Organizational Leadership with a focus on Project Management did I truly get a good grasp of the true value of project delivery principles. In incorporating the Project Management competences into my professional life as well as my personal life has allowed me to show tremendous growth and development. By continuously striving towards this personal growth, I have stayed updated with the latest industry trends, methodologies, and technologies, allowing them to adapt and innovate in a rapidly changing environment. In developing my self-awareness and emotional intelligence, I have also been able to understand my strengths and weaknesses, communicate effectively with stakeholders, resolve conflicts, and motivate team members towards achieving project goals.
