What is Ethical Communities:
Ethical communities in an organization refer to groups of individuals who uphold and promote ethical behavior within the workplace. The communities are distinguished by mutual commitment to honesty, integrity, fairness, and respect for others. The values and principles are chosen rather than given. The ethics are contained within the four frames of organizations. “The frames also carry implications for creating ethical communities and reviving the moral virtues of leadership” (Bolman & Deal, 2021, p.415). The reframing ethics are in the Structural Frame also referred to as a Factory, you will find excellence and authorship. In the Human Resources Frame, which a metaphor for it is Extended Family presents ethics as caring and love. When looking at the Political Frame or the Jungle, you will find ethics in justice and power. Finally, the Symbolic Frame that can be referred to as the Temple emphasizes faith, belief, and significance. The members who make up the communities tend to be reflective, involved, and open. They actively foster a culture that encourages employees to act in accordance with moral principles, ensuring that everyone feels valued and supported in making ethical decisions. Their importance ultimately plays a crucial role in shaping organizational values, boosting employee morale, and contributing to the success and reputation of the organization. From my personal experiences at work in the organization spotlighted in my case study; this sense of ethics was demonstrated through constant participation from family members owning or associated with the company- akin one would associate with reverence given to their grandmother. Caring and love are fundamental values and ethics are what drive the mission of my PCA organization. Our organization is built upon a solid foundation of compassion and empathy, which guides our interactions with both clients and employees.

Reflection of Ethical Communities:
In my coming to understand, I have discovered that Ethical Communities help leaders establish a strong ethical foundation built upon the four frames of an organization that guides and molds the decision-making at all levels. This ensures that actions taken by the organization align with its core values and principles. Leaders must actively model ethical behavior themselves to set the tone for others to follow suit. I was able to see this firsthand in my organization as the stakeholder’s family members that were not necessarily employees but were still regarded and respected as a pillar of the organization because of the values and principles they contributed.
